Define your target market.

These parameters are used to configure your LinkedIn Sales Navigator search. Be as precise as possible — your pipeline quality depends on it.

Target Geography *

Enter the countries where your ideal clients are based. At least one country is required. If you sell nationally only, just enter your home country. If you target globally, list your highest-priority markets first — Sales Navigator applies these as filters, so order matters.

List your primary markets first. Leave blank if not applicable.
Only fill this in if you need to narrow to specific regions within the countries above — e.g. targeting only Sydney-based companies rather than all of Australia.
Target Company Headcount *

Select all headcount ranges that match your ideal client company size. Think about who typically has budget for your offering — a 10-person startup has very different buying behaviour to a 500-person enterprise. If you sell to SMBs, select 11–200. If you target mid-market, 201–1,000. You can select multiple ranges.

Target Company Type *

Select the ownership and legal structures you want to target. This helps filter out irrelevant organisations — for example, if you only work with privately-held businesses, selecting "Privately Held" prevents your outreach being wasted on public companies or government bodies. If you're open to all, select all that apply.

Target Seniority Level *

Select the seniority levels of the people you want to reach. Focus on decision-makers or budget holders — the person who can actually say yes. For B2B services, this is often Director, VP, or CXO. If your product requires a champion at a lower level who then escalates, include those levels too. Avoid selecting Entry Level unless your offering is specifically aimed at them.

Job Titles to Target *

These are the exact job titles that will be used as keywords in Sales Navigator. Be specific — "Head of People" will return more targeted results than just "HR". Include variations and synonyms for the same role (e.g. "HR Director", "People & Culture Director", "Director of Human Resources" all refer to the same person). The more relevant titles you provide, the more complete your search coverage.

Target Job Functions *

Job functions are broad department categories on LinkedIn. Selecting these helps capture people who may have an unusual job title but sit in the right department — for example, someone titled "People Lead" who falls under the Human Resources function. Choose up to 5 that best represent the departments your buyers work in. If unsure, prioritise the function most closely tied to who holds budget for your offering.

Target Industries *

Select the industries where your best clients operate. These map directly to LinkedIn's industry filters in Sales Navigator. Be honest about where you actually win deals — selecting too broadly will dilute your search with poor-fit companies. If you work across multiple sectors, select the top ones where your message lands best. You can choose up to 10.
